Hello World

Welcome to the Digital Repair Café in Milton Keynes. My vision is to create an accessible location in Bletchley to support young adults with mental health issues, neurodiversity conditions and other disabilities learn vital digital skills and fix their computers, laptops and other technology.

Why a digital repair café?

My kids and I have autism, and one of my sons and I also have ADHD. We understand the challenges both in education and when embarking on professional careers faced by people with our condition and issues.

I deeply care about our environment and making a positive impact to things, people and animals around us using a circular economy approach. Without trying to sound like too much of a hippie, I believe in the positive future of SolarPunk instead of the dystopian abyss of CyberPunk. With the world around us becoming more digital by the day, understanding how to navigate it becomes increasingly crucial to our day to day.

What are repair cafés?

Repair Cafés are fabulous places for people to come and fix their stuff while developing new skills. While this is usually a volunteer-run event, held every couple of weeks, I think our community needs a space that is designed for them and accessible permanently.

What is the Digital Repair Café in Milton Keynes about?

I want to help people in the wider Milton Keynes community repair their computers, laptops and learn critical digital skills. A physical, permanent location acting as a hub and destination will make difference to anyone struggling to get to grips with unrepairable technology or the A.I. enshittification (yes, that’s a real word) of our common world wide web.

We champion openness, the right to repair your technology and freedoms of speech and expression.
